The Satanic Temple Inc. and Adam Vavrick, an ordained minister of the Satanic Temple and a leader of TST’s Illinois congregation, sought to deliver an invocation before a Chicago City Council meeting but were not invited after, TST claims, more than three years of asking to deliver an invocation and not being given an explanation for why they were not invited.
TST sued the city in federal court alleging violations of the First Amendment's Establishment Clause.[1]
